The Opportunity:

To serve as the bridge between technical software innovation and creative production excellence. You will translate the complex capabilities of generative AI software into practical, high-performance workflows that solve real-world production bottlenecks. By working directly with show leads and the software engineering team, you will also ensure that our pipeline tools are not only cutting-edge but also intuitive, stable, and tailored to the specific needs of the artists on the floor.

Key Accountabilities (What you will own): 

• Workflow Development: Own the design, development, and maintenance of advanced ComfyUI workflows to accelerate specific pipeline areas, such as background creation, matte painting, style training etc. Develop and maintain custom tools and scripts to bridge the generative AI software with existing production pipelines.
• Pipeline Development: Create and update pipeline tools to meet unique show-specific artistic demands.
• Production Support: Act as the primary technical point of contact for production departments (CG Supervisors and artists) to identify tasks suitable for acceleration and deploy custom solutions in "live" show environments.
• GenAI Liaison: Act as the strategic liaison between show production and the generative AI software engineering team; translate creative feedback into technical requests and pass along core software bugs or future feature needs for roadmap consideration.
• Collaborative Roadmap Planning: Work closely with the Product Leadership to evaluate production-side needs and align the software roadmap with high-value creative use cases.
• Support & Troubleshooting: Provide direct technical support to production teams, offering quick, creative problem-solving for workflow upgrades and pipeline customizations.
• Documentation & Training: Author technical documentation and provide guidance to artists on how to utilize new workflows and custom tools effectively during production.

The Requirements

• You thrive in high-pressure production environments where finding a technical solution quickly is critical to a show’s schedule.
• Proven track record in VFX, animation, or gaming pipelines, with a deep understanding of how assets move from layout to final compositing.
• Expert-level knowledge of ComfyUI, including node development, custom node implementation, and complex workflow optimization.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with DCC APIs (Maya, Houdini, Nuke, etc.)
• Comfortable working between two teams (Software vs. Production) and balancing long-term product goals with immediate show-side needs.
• Legally eligible to work in British Columbia, Canada.
